Meet Emile. A French Deco inspired three-drawer dresser featuring a balanced silhouette, clean lines and a unique cerused oak finish. We updated this classic shape with gold leaf accents, a graciously sculpted façade and hand cast brass hardware. The result is a chic, timeless piece design to last the test of time, both aesthetically and functionally.
What is a cerused finish you ask? Also known as limed oak, ceruse was a white lead paste originally employed by cabinet-makers to fill the porous grain of oak planks, dating back to the 16th century. The finish was made popular again in the Art Deco era and used by midcentury modern influencers. Today, nontoxic color waxes are used to create a similar effect, evoking bygone eras of craftsmanship, glamour and heirloom quality pieces.
