We're still celebrating Father's Day with our stylish dad photo contest over on Facebook (have you entered?). Earlier today we talked to Steven Alan about being a dad and now we're chatting with DwellStudio president Joshua Young about his experience on becoming a father.

(Joshua stand paddling with Isabelle and William.)

Q: How has becoming a dad changed your outlook on life?

A: Upended all my priorities; my life revolves around my kids and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Q: What’s the life philosophy/approach to life that you what to impart to your kids?

A: Be an individual and true to yourself. Experience nature and travel the globe.

Q: What’s your best dad moment? Any anecdotes?

A: One thing will always stand out - I was skiing out west with my daughter, and she skied on her own for the first time right beside me, top to bottom of a big mountain. I was awestruck. The most important thing I have learned as a dad - work will always be there and so will your friends that matter, so make the time to take them to school, go on a field trip and be on the sidelines cheering. It’s only a finite period of time and it’s wonderful.

Q: How has becoming a dad changed your outlook on life?

A: It has given me a broader outlook in terms of importance and urgency and has taught me to be more patient.

Q: What’s the life philosophy/approach to life that you what to impart to your kids?

A: Whatever you choose to do, do it well and try lots of stuff early on to figure out what you enjoy.

Q: What’s your best dad moment? Any anecdotes?

A: The day the kids were born. I highly recommend being present at birth and always be prepared for the inevitable birds and bees questions.

Yesterday we introduced you to Steven Alan. Today we're giving you the inside scoop on our own stylish Studio dad (and Christiane's husband) Joshua Young. Our laid back, sporty president and CEO here at DwellStudio downloads us on everything from his day-to-day style to his go-to family spots around the city, all in honor of our Father's Day Facebook photo contest.

Meet Joshua Young

Q: What’s your 9-to-5 job?

A: President at DwellStudio.

Q: Where are you originally from?

A: Toronto, Canada.

Q: Where do you live now?

A: Soho, NYC.

Q: Where are your favorite places to go with your kids in your neighborhood?

A:  My kids are born and raised in Soho, so they have grown up walking and scootering the neighborhood with no shortage of anything inspiring or interesting to see. Thompson Park and Washington Square are longtime favorites which is a pretty cool way to grow up.

(Washington Square Park.)

We also love to eat out, my kids cannot get enough of the pizza at Savore or Pulino’s, and late night jaunts to Emack & Bolios for ice cream in their jammies.

(Emack & Bolios on West Houston.)

Early morning breakfast at Silver Spurs and winter book hunting at Scholastic. Although now that we have opened a store around the corner, I think that is their new favorite place.

(DwellStudio Flagship on Wooster Street.)

Q: Describe your everyday style.

A: Casual and tailored; and usually something purple/lavender. For some reason I can’t seem to get away from that color in my wardrobe.

Q: What is your favorite part about your home?

A: I lived and breathed every single part of the design and construction, so it feels very personal and comfortable. We designed it as a real family home; an oasis from a busy urban life where we can entertain but not so formal that we don’t mind if the kids zoom around on their scooters.

(Christiane and Josh's Soho loft via The Glow.)

Q: How do you balance your work, personal and family lives?

A: Still working on it! I make a point of always having breakfast with my kids and taking them to school, then we try and sit down for dinner altogether at the end of each day. It makes a world of difference. In between and after, I get whatever I need to do, done.

As a part of our Father's Day Facebook photo contest with our friends at Steven Alan (have you entered?), we had the pleasure of chatting with the uber cool designer. As one of our go-to brands for classic American tailoring with city cred, we couldn't wait to learn more about this creative urban dad.

Meet Steven Alan...

Q: Where are you originally from?

A: Manhattan. I lived in Arizona and California and came back around 20 years ago.

Q: Where do you live now?

A: Downtown, and I bike to work.

Q: Describe your everyday style.

A: Messy, subversive, and classic.

Q: What’s your 9-to-5 job?

A: In addition to running the retail, web and wholesale branches of the company, I’m constantly looking out for new talent to represent in our showroom.

Q: What is your favorite part about your home?

A: The views.

Q: How do you balance your work, personal and family lives?

A: With difficulty—I get up early to spend time with my family and weekends are all about the kids.

Q: Where are your favorite places to go with your kids in your neighborhood?

A: My son is currently really into basketball, so we go to the courts on Worth Street; he can play and skateboard there. New Museum is close to our house, and we make a Sunday morning pilgrimage to Russ & Daughters for the best smoked fish.
