Happy Friday! We have had a great week: first day of spring, hosted a fantastic event with HP (more to come!), and welcomed new additions to 77 Wooster. We are looking forward to embracing the slightly warmer weather by getting out for some much needed spring-update shopping. See what's new at our favorite (we can't help it!) SoHo store - from art, to diamonds, to our most-coveted upholstery..

We're HUGE fans of Lonny Magazine (aren't you?). So imagine our excitement when they called us up asking a tour of our newly opened flagship store in New York City? (We were thrilled, of course!) We adore the article—it's beautifully written—and the images capture our 77 Wooster boutique in a stunning light. After seeing a cascade of trendy food trucks ebb in and out of SoHo, we were surprised to spot a new kind of truck around the corner from our flagship store—a gallery truck, dubbed 83rd Anomaly.

Its black façade may appear intimidating at first sight, but muster up the courage to venture inside and you’ll find madcap designs from the art studio Convoluted Construct.

We spoke with the Convoluted Construct artists (that’s a mouthful) to find out more about the inspiration behind this project: “Our idea for the traveling gallery comes from the constant search for gallery space in NYC. If you can’t find it, why not create it?”

The artwork combines dream-like landscapes, graphic illustrations and brushes of color that create a fantastical world reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. Many of the paintings are silk-screened onto T-shirts, blurring the line between fashion and art.

We're totally on-board with the communal and start-up spirit of this cool summer project.

The day before our grand opening, in the quiet morning hours along Wooster Street, our resident store design maven Maris, her photographer partner Carlo, along with New York-based graffiti artists CS Krew began assembling the bright yellow DwellStudio rope-art installation. It took several hours and crew of four to weave the sign into the metal lattice—but it all came together beautifully. Just as the sun peeked over the west side rooftops, our gurillia-style street art was mounted and primed for viewing by morning commuters, retail hounds and Soho's sauntering crowds. Watch as our 77 Wooster corner gets the street style treatment for opening day!

The renegade spirit of New York street art aligns seamlessly with our founder Christiane's entrepreneurial spirit and her no-fear approach to taking risks and pushing the boundaries of success. So it's really fitting that to generate some street level buzz about our opening day we mounted our very own work of graffiti art. Once whispers of a possible street art collaboration started to travel around the Studio, one of our in-the-know staffers quickly connected us to CS Krew and within a week plans were set to adorn the empty, gated-lot just around the corner from our flagship.

We've always called Soho home—the company has really come of age in this neighborhood (our first offices were just down the street on Canal). And over the years we have loved playing witness to the innovative—and to put it simply—rad street art installations in our own backyard.

We LOVE these pomelo-scented candles (designed exclusively for the DwellStudio Flagship store). It's the perfect summer scent—so crisp! The pomelo is a beautiful green citrus fruit found in Southern Asia. Christiane actually hand-picked the scent because it reminds her of her trip to Bangkok earlier this year.

Last week we welcomed our lovely friends in the press to preview the DwellStudio Flagship store! It was great to see everyone so excited about our new store and to show off our entire DwellStudio vision for the first time. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us. We’re excited that our very first brick-and-mortar shop is set to open this June on lovely cobblestone-lined Wooster Street. Our new retail home just happens to be nestled in SoHo among a slew of galleries, cafes, fashion outposts and of course the impossibly cool people who inhabit this art-centric neighborhood.
