This weekend we’re looking forward to popping uptown and getting our fill of the Upper East Side. Our first stop is Sarabeth's for a delicious, leisurely brunch. Whether we’ll have the Spinach & Goat Cheese omelette or the Seafood Cobb Salad we haven't decided, as both are just too good.

After lunch we’re headed to the much talked about Gutai: Splendid Playground exhibit at the Guggenheim, open through May 8th. We’ve heard that it is Japan’s most influential postwar avant-garde collection. The exhibit is divided into six different thematic sections that explore Gutai’s work and process. Definitely not to be missed.

With sunny days in mind, we’ll stroll through Central Park, iced coffee in hand. We'll top off a delightful day with cocktails and bites at Earl's Beer and Cheese - the Earl's Taco looks like a must-try.

This set of black iron, sculpted owls would dress up a bookshelf, don't you think?

How sweet are these deer figurines? They would be adorable on a mantle or atop a stack of fashion books on an accent table.

Total creature chic here! This madcap dude would elevate the decor strategy on any desk.

We might have to snag this gorgeous brass paperweight for ourselves. He would also look elegant on a bookshelf.

We're HUGE fans of Lonny Magazine (aren't you?). So imagine our excitement when they called us up asking a tour of our newly opened flagship store in New York City? (We were thrilled, of course!) We adore the article—it's beautifully written—and the images capture our 77 Wooster boutique in a stunning light. Ground Support

We’re always on-the-go here at DwellStudio and for those many trips back and forth between the studio on 6th avenue and our flagship store on Wooster, Ground Support has become our coffee standard. The staff always greets us with a smile and a steaming cup of Intelligentsia drip. Plus we think it’s a pretty good sign when you can cull outfit inspiration from your baristas.

When we need a break from staring at computer screens and falling down the rabbit hole of Pinterest browsing, the Phaidon bookstore provides a welcome escape. The white washed walls and exquisitely produced hardcover art books restore our faith in the potential of print publishing’s staying power.

The Dutch

Some days it’s necessary to unwind from a long day with a fancy little martini glass in hand, and The Dutch has become a go-to for many of the DwellStudio designers. With an open and airy interior, grand French windows and beautifully styled food presentations, we feel right at home here.

Luckily the storm passed though the city without doing any major damage... and most of us were even able to get back to work first thing Monday morning!

We've noticed a new dining trend and we like it.  It seems several up-and-coming restauranteurs are beckoning those nostalgic memories of summer camp and implementing them in their decor and food.  We first noticed it with Ruschmeyers in Montauk, which has become a family destination for many of us...and then again, last night, I dined at the hottest new place in Williamsburg: Masten Lake.  

While Masten Lake might not have tee-pees and rope swings everywhere, it definitely has that lake-front, camp dining feel.  The food, however, far surpasses camp-grade-quality.  More on that in another post.

Clean simple lines - lots of white with painted wood gives that fresh, pickled feeling.

White painted benches with simple, rough wooden chairs and industrial tables - all with fresh-from-the-field flowers.

The bar (and cocktail list) is filled with garden-variety ingredients like okra...another trend we are loving.

Even the waitresses felt a little like camp counselors, as they took my 3 year old son around the corner to inspect a grasshopper that had been hanging out with them all day.  A little slice of camp in the city.
