We have a post-Thanksgiving treat for you... a peek at the awesome video interview that The Bay created with our creative director Christiane. The Bay is one of our favorite stores in Canada; they carry a lot of pieces from our DwellStudio collection. A few months ago their resident style guru Dan Levy stopped by our Soho offices and toured our flagship store over at 77 Wooster Street to get an insider's view of how Christiane gathers inspiration and runs DwellStudio. Enjoy!

New York is absolutely buzzing with energy as we head into the Thanksgiving weekend. Winter has arrived, and we love seeing everyone wrapped up in (faux) fur snoods, wool coats and knitted caps. One of our favorite pre-Thanksgiving traditions is walking down 5th Avenue peering into the gorgeous holiday windows at the city's most historic department stores. We spotted a lot of sparkle, 1920s references and beautiful bird motifs. (Put a bird on it!) Here's a look at what we saw during our glitter-filled stroll last night...

The glowing view down 5th Avenue.

We know the holiday season has officially arrived once the famous Swarovski Snowflake takes its place over 5th Avenue.

We couldn't get enough of the fantastical Cirque du Soleil-themed windows at Bloomingdale's

It's a visual feast filled with 3-D animated scenes, acrobats and hand-painted murals.

Bergorf’s windows were inspired by the Jazz Age.

How cool are those Art Deco details and beautiful plumes?

Barney's went for a neon electric look...

with an imaginative mixing of Disney characters and fashion stars. Can you imagine a meeting between fashion writer Suzy Menkes and Minnie Mouse?

We absolutely adored the twinkling snake wrapped around Bvlgari!

Henri Bendel partnered with the Brooklyn Museum to design displays that evoke 1920s fashion.

The main window was mocked up to look like the department store's interior from 90 years ago, complete with mannequins wearing outfits inspired by actual Bendel designs from that era.

And Harry Winston was all a-glitter!

Have you seen the Holiday windows? Let us know your favorites on Facebook... we would love to hear from you!

What are your Thanksgiving traditions? As New Yorkers we love to be out and about on Thanksgiving day. Here's a mini-guide to some of our favorite places to dine, drink, shop and go during the Thanksgiving holiday in New York!

(Image via National Geographic.)

See: The balloons on the night before the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade

A tradition since 1927, the giant character balloons are slowly inflated and brought to life on the streets around the American Museum of Natural History. We love walking along Central Park West to catch a glimpse of some of the classic parade characters.

And of course we adore the watching Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Shop: Zabar's

It's a New York tradition to order a turkey and all the trimmings from the legendary Zabar's. Plus we can't leave this New York food institution without a basket full of amazing cheese from their well-stocked counter!

Imbibe: Cocktails at the Wadorf Astoria

Sipping a hot toddy in the lobby of this grand hotel and watching the uptown crowd flow in and out of the beautiful Art Deco building is a lovely pre-Thanksgiving dinner treat. And the holiday decorations are an amazing sight!

Go: George Balanchine's Nutcracker

(Image via Jaunted.)

This classic ballet begins the day after Thanksgiving and it's a true a magical feast.

Eat: Edi and the Wolf

(Image via Huffington Post.)

For a non-traditional meal, we love to check out the culinary scene at this Austrian hotspot. This year's Thanksgiving specialty... roasted duck with pretzel brioche sounds delicious.

The Plaza

For a taste of old New York on Thanksgiving night, nothing beats dinner at The Plaza complete with all the classic trimmings. We even found this vintage Turkey Day menu from 1899!

We would love to hear about your Thanksgiving traditions over on Facebook!

Our judges had a lot of fun looking through all your amazing boards, and they all told us how hard it was to choose just one winner. Thank you so much to everyone who entered; we were really impressed with your creativity! So without further ado, here are this year's Modern Thanksgiving winners...

1. Dana Ludvik, picked by Jon of Happy Mundane.

Jon says, "The first image of that cozy sweater really set the tone for this board. There's a nod to traditional elements but totally re-interpreted in a bright modern way. I especially love all the pops of color and graphic motifs. Overall, I think Dana's vision is playful, stylish, warm, and a whole lot of fun- just what I feel a Modern Thanksgiving should be!"

2. Kaitlyn Rawley, picked by Lindsay of MStetson Design.

Lindsay says, "Comfy sweaters and moody landscapes with a beautiful mix of vintage, modern, and handmade touches throughout. Not to mention a vintage Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade homage. Guests Meryl Streep, Julie Andrews, and Gene Kelly really sealed the deal."

2. Julie Kang, picked by Anna of In Honor of Design.

Anna says, "I loved the way her board had an overall theme of fresh, innovative, and modern aesthetic with a warm undertone of colors. Very creative and fun! I even bookmarked some of her finds!"

Along with our lovely judges Happy Mundane, MStetson and In Honor of Design, we're reviewing your entries and will annonce all three winners on Monday, right here on the Studio blog... so stay tuned! As we're looking through your boards, we've been thinking about what makes a Modern Thanksgiving table setting: The color palette, natural elements, pretty lighting... what do you think? To get our inspiration going we rounded up some of our favorite tablescapes spotted on your beautiful Modern Thanksgiving boards!

A table filled with beautiful blooms, lined with a silvery tablecloth and a mix of candles is elegant with out feeling overly formal. Image via Rosemary on the TV.

Pretty and inviting: we love tall candles in glass wine bottles. Image via This is Glamorous.

Christiane is in Boston today for a social media and design talk with Robert Allen. So we thought it was the perfect day to launch our city guide feature with a mini-guide to Boston. Here are some of our favorite bean town haunts...

Imbibe: The Bee Hive

(Image via Flickr)

Located in Boston's hip South End, this artful spot is always celebrating something. With live music, abstract paintings, low hanging chandeliers, dark interiors, moody wallpaper and exposed brick—design lovers and party-revelers alike will feel at home here. We love to stop in pre- or post-dinner for a cocktail and a little nighttime people watching!

Sleep: The Liberty Hotel

(Image via Swell City)

Housed in the former Charles Street Jail, this luxury hotel makes for a historical and haute stay in Boston. Built in 1851 by architect duo Gridley James Fox Bryant and Rev. Louis Dwight, the building's storied past is honored in three eating-and-drinking spots with playful references: Clink, Alibi and Scampo. An airy 90-foot central rotunda, which houses the main lobby, is topped by a cupola that was formerly covered over, and magnificent, original floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the landscaped patio.

Eat: Lala Rokh

(Images via Zagat)

Nestled in Boston's adorable Beacon Hill neighborhood, this Persian restaurant is a tasty romantic hideaway. We suggest leaving the food decisions to your waiter... then sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy every saffron and garlic-infused dish.

See: Mario Testino at the Museum of Fine Arts

(Image via MFA)

No one captures the excitement of fashion, royal life and wild happenings quite like Mario Testino. After strolling through the Chinese sculptures, European paintings and contemporary decorative art collections at this cultural mainstay make sure to linger a little longer among the oversized glossy images of celebs, socialites and beautiful people.

Today we're talking to our third Modern Thanksgiving judge—the lovely Anna of In Honor of Design. We adore Anna's creative and genuine style. Whether writing about interior design, fall fashions or raising little ones, her vibrant personality always comes through. Read on to learn Anna's holiday styling tricks, her new love of gold accents and her awesome idea for a hostess gift!

Meet Anna...

What’s your 9-to-5?

I am a graphic designer and lifestyle blogger, which is a creative mind’s dream. I get to try a little bit of everything. Styling, branding, event design, etc. I am a mom of two little ones and work from home. It’s a learning process of being able to be present to them and get my work done as well. Its fun to see their personalities grow and their own creative side develop.

Where are you from originally?

I grew up in Ohio- the Cincinnati and Columbus area, and started college there as well. After my family moved down south, I followed, and the weather sucks you in and doesn’t let you leave!

Where do you live now?

We live in the north Atlanta area. It’s a beautiful part of Georgia where the mountains are to the north of us, and the city right below us.

What’s your decorating style?

I tend to lean towards modern eclectic design. However, since marrying my husband, I have noticed his classic style influencing me more and more.

Tell us about your Modern Thanksgiving board.

I noticed touches of gold creeping their way into many of the pins. I also love natural touches. Evergreen sprigs, pears, and driftwood. Making your guests feel at home with personal touches, adding a little fun to the environment with holiday drinks and appetizers, and of course enjoying each other’s company. This is the overall theme of the board!

Any tips for holiday entertaining?

I have to confess I have hosted many parties, but never a thanksgiving dinner until this year! It will be my first time hosting. I think its important to make the surroundings come alive. Music, good food and drinks, and even just a little decor can do the trick.

How about styling the holiday table? Any good tricks?

If you have one or two elements that tie everything together you can have a little more freedom to mix colors and textures. I realize I kind of style the table in layers. I always start with an inspiration piece and go from there.

What’s your favorite DwellStudio product? How does it fit into your décor plan?

The gold ribbon vases. That is what I call an inspiration piece to make a whole table set up out of.

What are the 3 things you cannot live without?

Well not counting my husband and children (a given!): Music, Sense of humor, and a GPS.

Any go-to host gifts?

I recently bought a pumpkin bread mix and apple butter combo wrapped up nicely for a hostess gift. It’s a fun alternative to a bottle of vino!
