I Love New York Reason #7 - Free Ice Cream

I love New York because you can never be sure what you will experience on any day. Ordinary is not a word for this town. I have seen it all here from the filming of Sex & the City to a Vogue fashion shoot - all at my front door. Last night was especially fun - in celebration the opening of the new Coach, store Van Leeuwen Ice Cream decked out one of it's ice cream vans and served free ice cream. Thanks Coach - my kiddies and our neighbors loved it! You helped start an impromptu street jammie party. Oh - and this was no ordinary ice cream either - it was amazing flavors like ginger, espresso, tahitian vanilla and the fave - glam cherry: tree-ripened cherry with dark chocolate chips.

The kids can hardly contain themselves with the cool truck and ice cream girl!

Ice cream in jammies on the stoop - what can be better!

That so doesn't happen in suburban southern California. Our ice cream trucks are icky!

ABOUT CHRISTIANE

Christiane Lemieux is a mother of two and a half (the half being a big old labrador Jake - who comes to the office every day with her) and is married to Josh, who is also her business partner. She is the Founder and Creative Director of DwellStudio and DwellStudio for Target. Christiane graduated from the Parson's School of Design with a degree in Fashion design. She also has a degree in Art History from Queen's University in Canada where she hails from. Christiane is inspired by travel (Canadians love to travel because it's so cold up there and they are always looking for some sun), design, and all things creative. Most importantly, she is trying to figure out how to live a life of adventure and bring her kids along too. Kids make everything more fun. The concept of working, being a parent, spouse, all round good person and living a balanced and inspired life is intriguing to Christiane...she has in no way figured any of it out but hopes to try.
