Christiane is right about the Single Man and Mad Men – the set designs are pure decorator porn! Who needs a compelling plot when there are so many droolworthy things to look at on screen (and I don’t mean Colin Firth). The other leading lady in the movie is Charley’s home, done up in a way that can only be called Hollywood Moroccancy – good ol’ hollywood regency infused with just the right amount of moroccan spice. Somehow it all looks new again.

Her boudoir is stunning. Loving that coral pink botanical on the vanity with the huge Parzinger-esque lamps. And the ikat print?? How Dries Van Noten!

But the living room is even better....with it’s luxuriously curved sweep of a sofa with the embroidered pale pink pillows (the same pillows are on the movie poster). I love how the matching mirrors and dressers flank the entrance and that one has a bar. So much opulence but yet so much restraint. Such a civilized way to live.
