Robby says: the trick to delicious red velvet is: equal parts cocoa powder and white vinegar + vegetable oil (no butter). Apparently, if those strict ingredients are not held to, by definition it is not a true red velvet cake, it's just a chocolate cake with red dye. They were amazing so I'd trust this guy.
